3 oranges (we used blood oranges because they are extraordinarily beautiful)
1/2 cup sugar
1 cup DONA turmeric concentrate
zest from oranges
Zest the oranges until you have about 1 teaspoon of zest, set aside. Cut the oranges into slices, removing peel and pith. Place in a bowl. Set aside.
Combine sugar and turmeric concentrate in a small saucepan. Bring to a boil. Reduce for about 15 minutes, or until the glaze has thickened. You should end up with about 1/2 cup of glaze.
Pour the sauce over the orange slices in the bowl, sprinkle with the orange peel, and stir until the turmeric glaze has coated each orange slice. Chill for several hours before serving. As the oranges sit, the juice mixes with the glaze, yielding a citrusy and sweet glazed fruit.
