Chai Apple Crisp

It's Fall. We're In New York. So we made an apple crisp. This crunchy, fruity, spiced crisp is the perfect blend flavor and texture to get ready for fall. Our Masala Chai Concentrate + Spice Dust + an optional scoop of ice cream, if you’re feeling crazy, makes the perfect fall treat.

Ingredients for the filling:

  • 5 large apples, peeled and sliced
  • 2 T butter ¼ c Chai Concentrate
  • 2 T brown sugar
  • Pinch salt

Ingredients for the topping:

  • 1 cup quick-cooking oats
  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup light brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Chai Spice Dust
  • 1 stick + 1tablespoon cold butter, cubed

Directions:

Preheat the oven to 350°F.

For the apple filling: In an 8-inch cast-iron skillet, heat the butter over medium heat. Add the butter, apple slices, chai, brown sugar and a pinch of salt and cook for 5-10 minutes or until the apples have softened.

In a medium bowl, toss the oats with the flour, brown sugar, salt, & Spice Dust.

Using a cheese grater, grate in the cold butter.. Using your fingertips, mix in the butter until the topping is crumbly. Sprinkle the topping over the fruit and bake for 1 hour, or until the top is golden brown and the fruit is bubbling. Let the crisp cool for at least 30 minutes before serving over ice cream.
