Single Origin Story: Hari River Mint

Our single-origin Hari River Mint is grown in the fertile valley of Herat, Afghanistan by a fair trade farming cooperative. The leaves are picked by hand and slowly dried under the sun to preserve the essence and terroir of the native plant.
Single Origin Story: Hari River Mint

Better than your average mint. While most mint teas have sharp, numbing flavors, our mint stands apart. The flavor is smooth, gentle & earthy = a refined and refreshing sip that stands apart from your typical mint tea.

Sourced equitably. We source our mint from a collective in the fertile valley of Herat, Afghanistan. The collective is made up of 45 Afghan farmers who are paid wages 2-5x above market value. Each year, 5 percent of net profits are reinvested in gender equity and education programs.

Grown in the valley of Herat, Afghanistan. It's arid climate + loose rich soil provide perfect conditions for growing this herb, so there is no need for synthetic inputs or pesticides. Each plant is watered by a solar powered irrigation system, then it's hand-picked and slow-dried in the sun for 2-3 weeks to best preserve the potency of the oil in the leaves which helps it maintain it's cooling sweetness long after the leaves are dried.

Enjoy Hari River Mint in Loose Leaf, Sachets or in our herbal blend, Flirt, and our black tea, Marrakesh.
